Multiple Counties ZIP+4

This product provides a way to accurately identify the county for any 9-digit ZIP Code. This is particularly beneficial in determining the county for a given address containing ZIP+4 while keeping the database to a manageable size. We were able to significantly reduce the number of records normally required for this type of operation by listing each ZIP+4 range and the corresponding county instead of each individual code.

Unlike standard 5-digit ZIP Codes, 9-digit ZIP Codes typically do not span multiple counties. The file includes all counties for each 9-digit ZIP Code and much more (see features at right).

Data Format - CSV: Comma-Separated Values (CSV) Text File

5 Digit ZIP Code: Official U.S. Postal Service nine digit ZIP Code

4 Digit Range Start: This is the 4 digit starting range for the Zip+4 code

4 Digit Range Finish: This is the 4 digit ending range for the Zip+4 code

County Name: The name of the county in which the ZIP Code is found. Note: that it is our own standardized spelling of the county. For matching other sources, use the FIPS codes when possible. (example: where we have ''O’Brien'' others may have ''Obrien'')

County FIPS: Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 3‐digit county. FIPS codes are not available for all areas (APO, FPO, some U.S. Territories).

State Abbrev: Official U.S. state name

State Name: Official U.S. Postal Service state abbreviation

State FIPS: Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 2‐digit state. FIPS codes are not available for all areas (APO, FPO, some U.S. Territories).

City or Town: The name of the city or town - up to 30 characters
